Initial Teacher TrainingTrain to be a teacher at Haseltine
Haseltine School is part of the Education Teaching Alliance Lewisham (ETAL) and takes an active role in Initial Teacher Education. Each year it hosts places for School Direct trainees.
School Direct is an employment-based route to becoming a qualified teacher and achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). The training, which normally takes three terms, takes account of previous experience and is tailored to suit individual needs.
You will need
A minimum of 3 years work experience, not necessarily from an educational setting.
- First or Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Degree passed at 2.2 or above
- English, Maths and Science GCSE grade C (and above) or equivalent
- Skills Test in Maths and English. Details can be found here.
- If your qualifications were awarded abroad, you must submit proof of equivalency from NARIC with your application.
