Welcome to Haseltine Primary School
At Haseltine we aim to create a happy school where the learning atmosphere is relaxed and conducive to high attainment. We believe that children learn in many different ways so we provide opportunities for them to explore, create, research, and investigate. At Haseltine, we are fully committed to standing up against all forms of racism and social injustice. We aim to ensure all our children can see themselves reflected in our curriculum and in the books they read. We believe that every child should learn the skills for life-long learning and be supported to develop as good citizens who contribute fully to their community.
For the children to reach their full potential we need to work in partnership with you as parents, carers and colleagues. Enabling children to be the best learners they can be is important for their life chances. Our school works in partnership with Fairlawn Primary School. Staff, governors and children work together to harness each other’s strengths and expertise so that children are offered the best possible education. We welcome you to our lovely school so you can see for yourself how we learn together. Parent tours have now started again, we look forward to showing you around our school if you would like to visit us. Please click on our ticker at the top of the page for further information.

Safeguarding/Operation Encompass Statement
At Haseltine, safeguarding our children is our number one priority. If children are not safe and happy they will not learn. We work with parents to make sure our children are safe at home and at school. When we appoint new members of staff there is a rigorous process of checks to ensure they are the right people to work with our community. If we are not sure, we don’t appoint. If we do appoint, we never stop checking to see if each of our colleagues are doing the right thing by our children. We have a clear whistleblowing policy. All staff at our school are familiar with the policy and we always follow procedures if we suspect a member of staff isn’t doing the right thing by our children.
We have a very active pupil parliament and all our children know they are listened to if they are worried or upset about anything. We all know that we do not keep secrets in our school and we all listen to each other and support each other.
We also work closely with Operation Encompass which directly connects the police with schools to secure better outcomes for children who are subject or witness to police-attended incidents of domestic abuse. Rapid provision of support within the school environment means children are better safeguarded against the short-, medium- and long-term effects of domestic abuse. This enables us to support you and your children immediately after an incident.
Please do read our safeguarding and child protection policy. If you have any further questions about safeguarding, please do come and speak to us.
