Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education

Tackling the social development of each child

The personal and social development of each child has a significant role in their ability to
learn and achieve.

PSHCE is taught directly in class and through other subjects i.e. Literacy, Humanities, Science
and PE. It is reinforced through the daily life of the school community e.g. school assemblies, playground behaviour, healthy eating during break and lunchtimes, School Council and taking
care of the school environment. We also welcome visitors to the school such as Health Professionals, Police, Fire Service and other positive role models.

Every class takes part in a circle time activity once every two weeks. This allows children to
discuss/debate a range of personal, social and citizenship issues in a safe and trusting environment.

PSHCE includes Sex & Relationships Education
